CM v Garsington Youth

8th December   home   result 1-2   half time 0-2
Scorer for CM Robbie Catling

Cumnor suffered another defeat in the league but it could have gone either way.
The game started disastrously for Cumnor as they let in a soft goal in the first minute. A harmless cross fell to Garsington's Keiron Smith who scuffed his shot but it bobbled past the off-balance Kane Slaymaker.
The half continued with Garsington creating more of the chances and in the 30th minute Tom Weir doubled their league with a well taken header directly from a corner.
This meant the half finished 2-0 to Garsington.
Pete's half time talk reminded the players the game was not beyond them and to keep battling away.
The second half was a marked contrast to the first with Cumnor doing most of the attacking. They were rewarded with a goal in the 55th minute when Mitchell Larman, making his debut, slotted the ball beyond the outstretched keeper's left hand.
Cumnor continued to apply pressure on Garsington desperate for the equaliser but some last ditch defending and a couple of quality saves by their keeper meant the score remained 2-1.
It was a disappointing result but a good performance by Cumnor. The games against Garsington have always been tight and this time it was Garsington who emerged the winners.
